HC Deb 18 December 1984 vol 70 cc153-4W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations his Department has received to extend eligibility for mobility allowance to blind people in the past year.

Mr. Newton

In the past year we have received nine representations, mainly from right hon. and hon. Members, on behalf of blind people and a further twenty-nine representations on behalf of people who are deaf and blind.

I also met during the year with representatives of the Deaf-Blind Helpers' League and the North Regional Association for the Blind.
