Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Transport in each of the last 10 years, how many fires have occurred on London Transport Underground, which had some effect on passenger service; and what information he has as to the cause of each fire.

Mr. Ridley

The full information to reply to this question is not readily available. I shall let the hon. Member have a reply as soon as possible.

Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many accidents there have been on London Transport Underground in each of the last 10 years; and, in each year, how many deaths and how many injuries have been caused.

Mr. Ridley

Details of all serious accidents on London Regional Transport's railways, including the number of deaths and injuries, are given in the Department's published annual reports on railway safety, copies of which are in the Library.
