§ Mr. Peter BottomleyWe have no definite plans for further legislation on industrial relations at this stage. The strike ballot provisions of the Trade Union Act have been in force only since 26 September and the other two parts of that Act will come into effect during 1985. We shall, however, be considering what further steps might usefully be taken both to deal with the special problems of industrial action in essential services and more generally.
