HC Deb 14 December 1984 vol 69 cc655-6W
Mr. Wolfson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) when the report of the independent inquiry by Peat, Marwick and Mitchell into the competitive practices of the Ordnance Survey will be available to him; and if he will make a statement;

(2) what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government towards the continuation of the publishing activities of the Ordnance Survey in the field of road atlases, town plans and guides;

(3) what net profit has accrued to the Ordnance Survey from the sales of new atlases, town plans and guide books:

(4) why the independent report into the competitive position of the Ordnance Survey joint publishing activities has been submitted to the Ordnance Survey management rather than to him direct.

Mr. Waldegrave

I shall answer these questions shortly.
