HC Deb 13 December 1984 vol 69 cc584-5W
Mr. Silvester

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will be employing the special development order procedure under the Town and Country Planning Acts in respect of the application for the expansion of Stansted Airport.

Mr. Gow

During the second reading of the Civil Aviation Bill, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport announced that the inspector's report would be published and that the House would have an opportunity to debate airports policy in the light of the report. The report was published on 10 December. After the debate, decisions on the Stansted applications will be taken under normal planning procedures.
