HC Deb 13 December 1984 vol 69 c586W
Mr. John Fraser

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are the estimated totals for 1984–85 of rent rebates and rent allowances, distinguishing between certificated and non-certificated benefit.

Mr. Whitney

The latest estimates of rent rebate and allowance recipients in Great Britain for 1984–85 are as follows:

Standard Certificated
Rent rebates 1,545,000 1,919,000
Rent allowances 281,000 540,000

Current indications are that the final figures will be higher. Detailed, revised estimates are expected to be available during February 1985.
