HC Deb 13 December 1984 vol 69 c592W
Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in which Third world countries arrangements exist for medical students to be allowed to use their six-week elective period for study in those countries.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

The General Medical Council education committee's recommendations permit elective periods of study to be undertaken overseas at the discretion of medical schools. Ministers are not responsible for these arrangements, and we do not collect detailed information about them.
