HC Deb 11 December 1984 vol 69 c476W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in the Official Report those district health authorities in the West Midlands with a higher perinatal mortality rate than the present average for the region.

Mr. John Patten

The district health authorities in which the perinatal mortality rates for 1981–83 were higher than the average for the west midlands region over that period are as follows. A group of years has been used to minimise the effect of random fluctuations of rates based on small numbers.

  • Herefordshire District Health Authority
  • Shropshire District Health Authority
  • North Staffordshire District Health Authority
  • Rugby District Health Authority
  • Central Birmingham District Health Authority
  • East Birmingham District Health Authority
  • West Birmingham District Health Authority
  • Coventry District Health Authority
  • Sandwell District Health Authority
  • Walsall District Health Authority
  • Wolverhampton District Health Authority
