asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many service men are currently based on the Falkland Islands.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what discussions he has had with the Brazilian Government for the provision of landing facilities for the Royal Air Force aircraft servicing the Falkland Islands.

Brazil accepts aircraft diverted there in an emergency, as we would expect any other country to do.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether it is a condition precedent to consideration by Her Majesty's Government of awarding the basic jet trainer contract to Shorts that the Brazilian Government grants landing facilities for Royal Air Force aircraft servicing the Falkland Islands.
