HC Deb 11 December 1984 vol 69 c440W
Mr. Soames

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with the protection of common land in England.

Mr. Waldegrave

I recognise that there is some concern about the effects of deregistration of common land.

This and other matters relating to commons are currently being considered by the Common Land Forum, which was set up last January under the aegis of the Countryside Commission. We shall give careful consideration to any proposals, resulting from the forum's deliberations, concerning future protection of common land.
