HC Deb 06 December 1984 vol 69 cc256-7W
Mr. Freeman

asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) if he will issue a booklet for the small employer, describing exactly what schemes are in operation for job creation; and how the employer can provide practical support for such schemes;

(2) whether he will introduce a special leaflet to explain the system of state help in finding training for and self-creating jobs for the 18 to 26 age group; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The Department and the Manpower Services Commission maintain a range of explanatory publications and leaflets aimed at employers and individuals, whether employed or not, describing those schemes and programmes which could be of use to them according to their circumstances. A number of these publications cover more than one type of assistance where appropriate. We therefore have no immediate plans to increase the range of existing publications as my hon. Friend suggest but the situation is kept under constant review, and if he has any suggestions we would be glad to hear from him.
