§ Mr. YoungerThe latest estimates indicate that the number of jobs in manufacturing industry in Scotland fell by 164,000 between June 1979 and June 1984; over the same period 613 closures in manufacturing industry, involving 10 or more workers, were notified to the Manpower Services Commission.
