Mr. Dewar

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many sheltered housing units have been built in Scotland in each of the last three years; and how many of these were built by housing associations.

The table shows the estimated increases in the numbers of sheltered dwelling units in each of the last three financial years:

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what has been the total expenditure of housing associations in Scotland in each of the last five years.

Mr. Dewar

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what percentage of the total allocation of finance available for capital programmes to housing associations in Scotland has been spent in the Strathclyde region in each of the last five years.

Mr. Younger

Expenditure by housing associations in Strathclyde region in each of the years from 1979–80 to 1983–84 represented 56 per cent., 57 per cent., 58 per cent., 56 per cent. and 59 per cent. of the respective totals for Scotland.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many housing units have been created by new build and rehabilitations, respectively, by housing associations in Scotland in each of the last five years.
