HC Deb 05 December 1984 vol 69 c216W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proportion of the adminstrative expenses of his Department he estimates to be directly or indirectly attributable to duties which must be carried out by his Department as a result of membership of the European Economic Community.

Mr. Younger

The proportion of the running costs of the Scottish Office directly or indirectly attributable to duties which must be carried out as a result of membership of the European Economic Community is not known and cannot be estimated without disproportionate cost.
