HC Deb 04 December 1984 vol 69 cc117-8W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his recent visit to Merseyside.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

I was prevented by injury from attending the opening of Lime Street Station and Concourse and the Liverpool freeport by Her Royal Highness The Princess Anne on 29 November 1984. My noble Friend Lord Skelmersdale attended on my behalf.

Following the ceremonies, my noble Friend joined the royal party for lunch at the offices of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company. He later visited the Albert dock and maritime museum complex.
