asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he has yet reached any conclusion in connection with the recommendation by the advisory committee on the supply and education of teachers that the mandatory requirement of a specialist qualification for teaching the deaf be removed.

Mr. Dunn

My right hon. Friends the Secretary of State and the Secretary of State for Wales are considering the recommendations of the report and will announce their decisions in due course.
