HC Deb 03 December 1984 vol 69 cc38-9W
22. Mr. Colvin

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what action he is taking to persuade other European Economic Community member states to cease the practice of reserved cabotage.

Mr. David Mitchell

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to the maritime sector.

I have urged the Commission to include measures to open up cabotage traffic among the proposals on shipping policy which it is expected to put before the Council of Ministers shortly.
