§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether, in considering the award of orders for the two outstanding type 22 frigates, regard will be had to the industrial relations records of the competing yards concerned and, in particular, to the seizure by the labour force of any vessel now building for the Royal Navy.
§ Mr. LeeAs I said in the House on 24 July 1984, we are seeking a new round of tenders for these ships. The tenders will be considered on their merits. However, it is clear that action of the sort described would make any yard unattractive to a prospective customer, be it MOD or anyone else.
