HC Deb 01 August 1984 vol 65 cc330-1W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether his Department has had any discussions on the drawing up of plans by the Manpower Services Commission in Wales concerning its proposals entitled "Development of the Employment Service in Wales"; and if he will make a statement about the implications for disabled people in Wales.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The proposals are a matter for the Manpower Services Commission, although my Department has been kept in close touch throughout. The commission has made clear its intention to have full regard to the needs of disabled people, and as part of the extensive consultations on its draft proposals which have been taking place since early July the commission has sought the views of the Wales Council for the Disabled, the committees for the employment of disabled people in Wales and area manpower boards.
