Mr.Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what insurance claim has been made by the Government in relation to the recent hospital fire in the Falkland Islands; and if he will make a statement.

Mr.Whitney

Insurance of the hospital is a matter for the Falkland Islands Government. We are making enquiries of the authorities in Port Stanley and I shall write to the hon. Member.

Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with the Falkland Islands Government on a new constitution for the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Whitney

We have been in frequent touch with the Falkland Islands Government over the new constitution, the drafting of which is well advanced. Final details remain to be discussed.
