HC Deb 25 April 1984 vol 58 cc480-1W
Mr. Arnold

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what information he has about voluntary bodies currently in receipt of money from the Greater Manchester council.

Mr. Waddington

I understand from the Greater Manchester Council that estimated expenditure in 1983–84 on grants to voluntary bodies with community and youth activities was £520,000. Other grants were given to charitable and other independent bodies concerned with the arts, recreation, the environment and so on, but a total figure for grants to voluntary organisations as such is not available.
