HL Deb 25 April 1984 vol 451 c123WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

On what grounds they have decided that it is not cost effective for members of Parliament to have made available to them in the Library information about Soviet naval exercises in waters adjacent to the British Isles.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces (Lord Trefgarne)

The production of this kind of information in a form which could be placed in the Library would be a time-consuming operation which could only be undertaken at the expense of higher priority work in the Ministry of Defence.
