asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many acres of agricultural land were let for short-term lets or for summer grazing during 1983; what were the corresponding figures for each of the last 10 years; and if he will make a statement.

In 1983 the figures were 3,525 acres for short term lettings and 95,086 acres for land seasonally let. Figures for each of the last 10 years are as follows:
