HC Deb 12 April 1984 vol 58 c355W
Mr. Tom Cox

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many hectares of land in Cyprus are used by his Department.

Mr. Lee

In addition to the sovereign base areas and the retained sites, constituting an area of approximately 25,700 hectares, retained under the 1960 Treaty of Establishment, British forces make regular use of some 8,700 hectares of land in the Republic of Cyprus for training purposes.
