HC Deb 12 April 1984 vol 58 cc355-6W
Mr. Canavan

asked the Secretary of State for Defence who were the two British Army officers who were photographed while on duty on 25 October with Prime Minister Tom Adams of Barbados outside his command headquarters in Barbados; whether they were on secondment to the Barbados Defence Regiment; and whether they were informed of the impending invasion of Grenada.

Mr. Stanley

If the hon. Member's question relates to photographs which appeared in the BarbadosAdvocate on 26 October 1983, I understand that the two officers shown with Prime Minister Adams were both members of the Barbados defence forces. No British Army officers were serving with those forces at the time.
