§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he has had about the proposed 352W change of status for Bell college of technology, Hamilton; how many representationves he has received on the subject; and when he expects to make a statement about the future of the college.
§ Mr. Allan StewartI have discussed the proposal with the hon. Member and with representatives of Strathclyde regional council; discussions are continuing between my Department and the council. In addition, my right hon. Friend and I have received written representations on the subject from the hon. Member and from representatives of the college.
My right hon. Friend will make a further announcement when discussions with the council are sufficiently advanced.
