§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what consideration he has given to the application of the requirements of clause 2(5) of the Local Government (Interim Provisions) Bill regarding the appointment of members of the Greater London council in cases where three appointments are to be made and the numbers on the appointing London borough council are 32 Labour, 27 Conservative, one Liberal, three Social Democrat, one other or 41 Conservative, 14 Labour, seven Alliance or 33 Labour, 30 Conservative, three Liberal or 37 Conservative, 12 Labour, five Alliance, nine Ratepayers or 57 Conservative, 10 Labour and two Alliance or 54 Labour, three Liberal, three Social Democrat or 51 Conservative, 12 Labour or 25 Conservative, 26 Labour and six Alliance;
(2) what consideration he has given to the application of the requirements of clause 2(5) of the Local Government (Interim Provisions) Bill regarding the appointment of members of the Greater London council in cases where four appointments are to be made and the numbers on the appointing London borough council are 48 Conservative, 12 Labour or 51 Conservative, five Labour, three Alliance or 62 Conservative, five Labour and three Ratepayers.
