HC Deb 10 April 1984 vol 58 cc193-4W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many O-level and A-level examination subjects can be taken through the Welsh language in Wales; and how this compares with the number 10 and 20 years previously.

Mr. John Stradling Thomas

I am informed by the Welsh joint education committee that provided sufficient notice is given by the schools, all subjects at GCE O and A-level can be taken through the Welsh language.

As far as the joint committee can ascertain, this was the position in 1973 and 1963.
