§ Mr. AncramApart from their power under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1980, police in Scotland may detain suspects under prevention of terrorism legislation. Statistics on the latter are published regularly in the series of Home Office statistical bulletins. No other powers of detention are available to the police in Scotland.
