100WThe following table gives for 3 February, the latest available information on the numbers of notified vacancies remaining unfilled at jobcentres in the west midlands region, analysed according to the 1980 standard industrial classification. The figures relate only to vacancies notified to job centres and remaining unfilled on the day of the count; vacancies notified to job centres are estimated to be about one-third of all vacancies in the economy as a whole. The figures do not include vacancies notified to professional and executive recruitment offices or community programme vacancies, which numbered 1,777.
