HC Deb 09 April 1984 vol 58 c25W
20. Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what proposals have now been submitted to him for a second crossing of the Severn; and if plans have now been finalised for a feasibility study.

Mrs. Chalker

Several submissions have been received from firms or groups outlining particular tunnel or bridge schemes for crossing the Severn. However, as my right hon. Friend explained on 7 February, he is instituting a study which will examine all the possibilities. An announcement about the arrangements for this study will be made soon.—[Vol. 53, c. 763–70.]
