Mr. Lawrence

asked the Prime Minister if an award is to be made to members of the armed forces and civilians who served with, or in support of, the British contingent of the Multinational Force in Lebanon.

In recognition of the outstanding service performed by those who served with the British contingent in Lebanon and those, both service men and any civilians, who served in direct support of it, Her Majesty the Queen has graciously approved the awards of the General Service Medal 1962 with "Lebanon" clasp. A Command Paper (Cmnd. 9224) is being laid before the House today.
