HC Deb 06 April 1984 vol 57 cc703-4W
Mr. Kirkwood

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what consultations took place between the United States Government and Her Majesty's Government prior to and following the House of Representatives' authorisation of funds, as yet unappropriated, for the modernisation of chemical weapons.

Mr. Luce

We are in regular touch with the United States Government about a wide range of issues, including our joint efforts to ensure a total ban on chemical weapons in the current conference on disarmament negotiations in Geneva. Details of such discussions must remain confidential.
