§ Sir George YoungMy Department has received a number of representations from local authorities in England about the provision of accommodation for homeless families, both in correspondence and in the course of the normal meetings held with them to discuss their housing investment programmes. Representations have also been received from hon. Members, voluntary bodies and members of the public about the availability of local authority housing stock to house homeless families; the use, standards and costs of temporary accommodation; and the effect on authorities' normal housing waiting lists.
