HC Deb 04 April 1984 vol 57 c554W
31. Mr. Bell

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied that current British legislation is adequate to deal with the problems of acid deposition.

Mr. Waldegrave

The first need in dealing with the problems of acid deposition is for research to provide the basis for decisions on control. Depending on the action eventually taken, new powers could become necessary and this will be taken into account in the general review of air pollution control legislation that is being undertaken.
