§ Mr. Hunterasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will examine alternative mechanisms for rural conservation, in addition to the powers available under section 39 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
§ Mr. WaldegraveI shall certainly be prepared to consider alternative mechanisms if at any time it becomes clear that the voluntary approach to rural conservation is failing.
