HC Deb 03 April 1984 vol 57 c447W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will estimate on the latest available information (a) the volume of milk currently produced in Wales and (b) the volume which would be permitted under the new quota proposals of the EEC.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

The provisional figure for sales of milk off farms for 1983 is 1,771.9 million litres. The quota will be divided among member states on the basis of milk deliveries in 1981 plus 1 per cent. The distribution of the appropriate proportion of the quota within the United Kingdom has yet to be determined.
