HC Deb 03 April 1984 vol 57 c480W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the number of cases and the rate per 1,000 population in each local authority who received assistance with adaptations to the home in 1982–83.

Mr. Newton

It has recently been discovered that many local authorities have not been completing their returns in accordance with the Department's notes of guidance. This has resulted in returns which cannot be regarded as a reliable data source. Pending the design of a new type of questionnaire the Department has therefore temporarily suspended the collection of data on the number of cases assisted with adaptations to housing by social services departments.
