asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he anticipates bringing the Zoo Licensing Act 1981 fully into operation.

My right hon. Friend intends to appoint 30 April 1984 as the date for the coming into operation of the Zoo Licensing Act 1981.

Miss Fookes

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the names of the panel of experts appointed under the terms of the Zoo Licensing Act 1981; and if he will make a statement regarding the criteria adopted for selecting the experts.

The list to be compiled under section 8 of the Act will be published on 30 April 1984 when a copy will be placed in the Library. The criteria adopted in selecting persons for inclusion are those set out in section 8(2) and (3).
