HC Deb 02 April 1984 vol 57 c424W
Mr. Tim Smith

asked the Secretary of Stale for Transport what progress has been made in the privatisation of Sealink.

Mr. Ridley

The British Railways Board recently announced its intention of selling the whole of its interest in Sealink UK Ltd. and of selling the company as an entity. The board's merchant bankers, Morgan Grenfell and Co. Ltd., wrote to potential purchasers on 19 March seeking expressions of interest in the company. I am arranging for a copy of that letter to be placed in the Library.
