HC Deb 24 November 1983 vol 49 c313W
Mr. Allen McKay

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if Her Majesty's Government will seek the conversion of the Kilroot power station in Northern Ireland to coal burning.

Mr. Butler

[pursuant to his reply, 22 November 1983, c. 111–12]: The Department of Economic Development has engaged consultants to advice it on all the options for future electricity generation in Northern Ireland, including conversion of Kilroot power station to coal burning. The consultants' findings will provide a basis on which informed decisions about the future of individual power stations can be taken.
