§ Mr. Pawseyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether the Government have any plans to extend the homes insulation grants scheme.
§ Mr. GowYes. We propose to extend the scheme to grant aid the insulation of dwellings with 25mm or less of existing loft insulation. At present only dwellings with no loft insulation whatsoever qualify. We intend to consult the local authority associations with a view to implementing the change as soon as possible. The homes insulation scheme allocation of £35 million for 1984–85, which I have announced today, takes account of this proposal.
