§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received concerning lengthening the period of eight weeks within which it is necessary to make a valid formal complaint to a family practitioner committee concerning any specific incident.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeWe receive representations from time to time, but I cannot give a figure for the total number. The time limit was last increased from six to eight weeks in 1974, and I am always prepared to consider 187W further representations about it. There is already a provision for a discretionary extension in certain circumstances.
