§ Mr. Norman LamontThere is already considerable Government aid available to firms in Leicester under our national schemes of assistance. Since 1979 over £1.5 million has been offered for 173 projects under section 8 of the Industrial Development Act 1982. In addition, grants are available under the support for innovation programme towards the adoption and development of new technology, whilst my Department's manufacturing, technical, design and small firms advisory services offer excellent business counselling.
