asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what percentage of single resident dwellings in the United Kingdom he estimates are inhabited by persons over the age of 65 years.

The information as requested is not available. However in 1981 people aged 65 and over living as single person households were estimated to form about 60 per cent. of all single person households in Great Britain.
