HC Deb 04 May 1983 vol 42 c93W
Mr. Viggers

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is now able to make a statement on the timetable for the relocation within the Royal Navy armament depot complex at Bedenham/Elson/Frater in Gosport of the facilities that are currently provided at Royal Navy armament depot, Priddy's Hard.

Mr. Wiggin

Transferring of facilities from Priddy's Hard to other sites within the Royal Navy armament depot Gosport is planned to take place over a number of years and is expected to be completed by the end of the decade. Preparatory work was begun in 1976. Some explosives processing facilities have already been relocated and the transfer of the remainder should be accomplished by the end of 1985. The reprovision of administrative, support and stores tasks will then follow.
