HC Deb 04 May 1983 vol 42 cc67-8W
Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many crimes involving breaking and entering at single resident dwellings were recorded in the United Kingdom in each of the last 10 years for which records are available; and how many of these resulted in injury or death.

Mr. Mayhew

The number of burglaries and aggravated burglaries in dwellings in England and Wales for each year from 1971 to 1981 is published in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales, 1981", table 2.9. The corresponding figures for 1982 appear in Home Office statistical bulletin 3/83, published 14 March 1983. Copies of these are in the Library of the House. Information showing the type of dwellings involved is not collected centrally.
