§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Minister for Trade if he will publish a table (a) showing the balance of trade for manufacturing goods and all visible trade, respectively, with Japan and with Germany, in 1982 and (b) showing the total balance of payments with both these countries in 1982 taking into account services such as banking, shipping and insurance as well as visible trade.
§ Mr. Peter Rees[pursuant to his reply, 24 February 1983, c. 489]: Details of the visible trade with the countries in question, in total and in manufactured goods—sections 5 to 8 of the Standard International Trade Classification—are set out in tables II (Imports) and V (Exports) of the United Kingdom Overseas Trade Statistics, copies of which are in the Library.
It is not possible to provide the table requested at (b) since no information is yet available on the current account of the balance of payments with Japan for 1982. No figures are published on this basis in respect of the Federal Republic of Germany.
