HC Deb 11 March 1983 vol 38 cc515-6W
Mr. Parry

asked the Minister for Trade to what extent trade between British and Argentine companies has now been resumed.

Mr. Peter Rees

[pursuant to his reply, 10 March 1983, c.454]: Both the United Kingdom and the Argentine continue to maintain import embargoes against each other's exports. Normal trade has therefore not been resumed although we remain prepared to lift sanctions on a reciprocal basis.

Mr. Parry

asked the Minister for Trade what information he has as to how many companies have ceased trading as a result of the loss of Argentine business following the conflict in the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Peter Rees

[pursuant to his reply, 10 March 1983 c.454]: I am not aware of any company which has ceased trading solely as a result of loss of business with the Argentine.
