asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he will make a commencement order for the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 with specific regard to part II, the control of sex establishments.

The following table provides the information requested for May 1979 and for May 1982, the latest date available. The industrial analysis of the unemployment register, last completed in May 1982, has since been discontinued.

Provisions concerning the control of sex shops in Scotland are contained in part III of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982. Commencement order SI 1983 No. 201 made on 14 February brings these provisions into effect on 1 April 1983.
